IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a PROJECT MANAGER for our Edmonton, AB client.
Our client is a world leader in the design, manufacture and supply of mineral processing solutions and associated machinery service in the mining, quarry and recycling industries. For almost 40 years our client has delivered innovative solutions that improve the productivity, profitability and safety of our customers’ operations while minimizing environmental impact. Their specialties are Mining Machinery, Feeders, Transporters, Sizers, IPSC, IPCC, Mineral Crushing, and Mineral Sizing.
They work closely with their customers offering comprehensive support by dedicated and experienced professionals. Our client has an immediate opportunity available for a Project Manager with industry experience for their Canadian operations. So if you have an entrepreneurial spirit, experience in CAD/Projects, you are willing to take ownership for your role, and you are a self-starter, this may be the position for you.
Carry clear responsibility and accountability for delivery of the project goals as set down by the client.
Coordinate all client contacts, including major correspondence between clients and maintain working relationships at all levels throughout the period of the project.
Monitor and control all contractual commitments to assure that all work is being performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings, terms of the contract and client expectations.
Conduct regular project progress and client meetings to review the progress and issues in all disciplines of the project.
Direct and review all discipline functions throughout the project lifecycle and ensure that the discipline leads actively manage best practices within each of their fields.
Ensure that the required business and workplace integration activities occur. Specifically, that project documentation (contractual, engineering, maintenance and workplace change related) is managed (received, reviewed, comments incorporated, responded and incorporated in plant records).
Research into the feasibility, design, operations and performance of mechanical systems.
Inspect installations, modifications and commissioning of mechanical systems on mine sites throughout Canada.
Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems at mine sites within Canada.
3-7 years of project management and engineering projects experience in the mining and materials handling industry.
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is an advantage.
Fluent in MS Office tools, especially MS Projects.
Hands-on project controls experience with focus on schedule development, tracking and accurately reporting progress on a regular basis.
Experience managing vendor commitments.
Experience identifying, assessing, and communicating project risks.
Understanding of the process of taking requirements from concept through to on-site commissioning.
Knowledge of Canadian standard design codes and specifications.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
High attention to detail and results.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage 4-5 medium size projects at the same time.
Must be willing to travel.
