Typical customers served will include restaurants (McDonalds, Wendy’s, Yogurt Shops, Tim Hortons, Casual) Convenience Stores (7-Eleven, Macs, CircleK, Casey’s, etc.) and Grocery (Kroger, Sobeys, Costco).


As a Food Equipment Service Technician, you will be required to;

Diagnose commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment performance through observation, testing and setup.

Disassemble and re-assemble equipment to perform trouble shooting, preventive maintenance, installations, and repair services.

Explain service charges and work performed to the customer.

Accurately complete documents to verify work performed and recommendations.

Provide troubleshooting and repairs on all assigned equipment.

Interface and maintain proper professional customer relations by providing superior customer service.

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Generate accurate records of performed work, materials, and time.

Attend regular training and maintain working knowledge of latest industry developments.

Maintain proper inventory and ensure regular maintenance of supplied vehicle.

Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.


EPA Certification.

Refrigeration License is required.

Must have a minimum of a class two certification.

Diagnostic ability as demonstrated through a minimum of three years’ experience and/or training in commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment such as fryers, grills, coolers and ice machines.

Must possess valid state/provincial issued driver’s license.

Ability to safely operate a company motor vehicle as evidenced by past driving performance record.

Must adhere to all company safety requirements and be able to drive a minimum of six hours per day.

Ability to effectively communicate with the customer.

Ability to work independently, under pressure, and without close supervision; willing and able to consistently work the schedule required by the job demands.

Ability to operate a commercial vehicle and trailer.

Ability to work flexible hours, as required, as well as on-call nights and weekends when assigned.

Ability to work well in teams.

Must be able to use and care for hand and power tools.

High school diploma or GED required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Basic computer and smart phone knowledge.

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, provincial and local standards.

Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.

Ability to tolerate environmental conditions consisting of extreme heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, dust and poor ventilation.

Ability to exert up to 100lbs of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying, etc.) regularly and up to 50 pounds of force frequently.

Ability to climb and work from 6’ ladder, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, twist, grasp to perform essential job functions.

Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push components and/or equipment to test, setup, or maintain equipment.
