TWO SUBCONTRACTOR NDT TECHNICIANS – EDMONTON AREA, ALBERTA, CANADA – # 3813

IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting TWO SUBCONTRACTOR NDT TECHNICIANS for our Edmonton area, AB NDT client.

Reporting to the NDE Manager, the Level II Technician will be performing non-destructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results.

Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment.

Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection.

Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.

Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.

As a NDT Technician, you will provide support to our client’s operations by working as part of a wider NDT team to perform diverse non-destructive tests that ensure quality and/or detect defects. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to fine tune and build on your existing knowledge by working in diverse settings throughout all operating areas.

There are a variety of opportunities with our client to work Red Deer North all over Alberta ranging in duration from 1 – 2 weeks per project with no downtime.

We are seeking CGSB certified technicians qualified in a variety of NDT methods, with particular focus on UT1, UT2, supplemented by RT, MT and PT would be an asset.

Work with the NDT team to perform a broad variety of NDT activities

Maintain an accurate record of inspection results

Work at height and in confined spaces to carry out tests

Ensure that all work is being performed effectively and timely

QUALIFICATIONS:

3 to 5 years of experience in the NDT field

Completion of CGSB certification in Magnetic Testing (MT-2), Penetrant Testing (PT-2) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT-1)

Must have at least 4 years’ experience as a UT Level II AND MT Level II

At least 2 years of Phased Array (PA)

Pipeline integrity experience

CWB Level I or II

Working in a physically demanding environment

Performing inspections and interpreting results

Valid driver’s license

Flexibility to work in town, out of town, nights and overtime would be an asset
