As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible to:

Grow Revenue and Market Share: generate new sales leads as well as nurture and enhance relationships with existing customers.

Develop market-centric programs, distribution channels, and accurate sales forecasts and achieve targeted performance forecast. Recruit and train distribution channel partners as needed.

Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop products, unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Visit existing and prospective customer manufacturing locations as needed to provide technical support, problem solve, monitor product usage, identify opportunities for business expansion and maintain relationships with key personnel at multiple levels in management, production, quality control, sourcing, engineering, etc.

Develop visibility and reporting tools for management, sales teams, and clients

Identify and confirm customer value propositions and supporting product testing in manufacturing environments.

Collaborate with product development to inform product offerings, and identify opportunities for value added growth through the current product portfolio and new product profiles.

Establish and maintain alliances with key equipment suppliers as needed to support individual plant locations.

Interface with prospective customers in order assess technical requirements, decision makers, decision influencers and decision methodology.

Prepare and present technical presentations outlining our client’s capability to provide valued solutions.

Capably prepare and negotiate pricing proposals and sales contracts.

Provide management support and leadership for the setting of customer disputes.

Analyze the market, monitor market trends, and communicate this information within the company.

Work closely with the operations organizations to maximize sales.

Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.

Strong selling and negotiation skills that are shared with the selling team.

Leadership skills to motivate sales team.

Planning skills to help sales team prioritize and optimize their efforts in order to maximize sales.

Ability to develop relationships with key customers.

Continually researches and compiles listings of prospective customers to create sales leads.

Gathers sales leads from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, websites, and other sources.


High School Diploma

10+ years’ experience.

The Sales Manager must be able to demonstrate experience developing and achieving goals on a consistent basis.

Adept with financials, numbers and expense management.

Strong with communication and presentation skills, and can solve problems and handle pressure

Prior sales and business development experience closing profitable deals, overseeing sales teams, client relations, strategy, and product development.

The ideal candidate will have adhesives and sealants market or have overseen successful business lines in comparative industries.

Having experience with protective coatings and solutions is a definite asset.

Having your NACE Certification or NACE training would also be considered a definite asset

Comfortable operating at both a strategic and “roll up your sleeves” level.

Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills

Excellent negotiating skills

Can do attitude/problem solver

Self-motivated, professional, executive presence

Ideal candidate must be familiar with MS Office and CRM systems.
