IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for an ELECTRICIAN for our Woodstock, ON client.
Our client is a well-respected company with a great company culture and low employee turnover. They are part of a large, multi-national corporation with a worldwide presence. This is a mid-sized manufacturing plant which serves a wide range of industries.
To inspect, test, dismantle and make electrical and certain mechanical repairs to all types of electrical equipment in assigned departments.
Receive work orders, instructions or wiring diagrams. Inspect and tests and interpret results, consult wiring diagrams and determine material or replacement needs according to specifications.
Plans working procedure, determining tools and material requirements. Locates source of trouble in any type of electrical equipment or apparatus by tracing and testing circuits and inspection for mechanical failure.
Dismantles, inspects, repairs, replaces or adjusts faulty parts and wiring on electrical equipment, switches, circuit breakers, transformers, hydraulic and magnetic brakes, panel boards, resistance banks, battery tractors and starters and electronic equipment.
Rewires, insulates, paints and reassembles equipment, completing adjustments required to obtain proper operating characteristics.
Makes certain mechanical repairs to equipment being serviced including the replacement, repair and installation of sleeve and antifriction bearings, gears, shafts, pins, etc.
Fabricates parts as required, using shop machine and hand tools. Performs work requiring a thorough working knowledge of mechanical and electrical principle and techniques, knowledge of properties of material and ability to use tools of the trade.
Works in assigned areas and services and repairs equipment in shop. As called upon, works in other areas of the plant.
Maintains cleanliness of area where work is performed.
Troubleshoot controls/HMIs including: AB SLC 500/Contrologics, Modicon, FactoryTalk and Panelmate
Troubleshoot AC/DC drives and Motoman robots
Troubleshoot all safety equipment, safety controls, light curtains
Must have a strong focus on health and safety as this is an 18001/14001 certified environment
Minimum high school diploma/GED and Ontario Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification – 309A or 442A plus experience with controls in a manufacturing setting
Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s license.
Must be capable of physically demanding work (inside & outside).
Must be a self-starter with the ability to follow directions and work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Advanced trouble shooting and problem solving skills are required.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Basic personal computer and corporate standard software skills (MS Word, Excel) are required.
Basic skills in planning and scheduling of maintenance work are required.
Knowledge/experience in a Computerized Maintenance Management System is an asset.
