IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN for our Leduc, AB client.
Our client is seeking an experienced, motivated and safety conscious individual to conduct regular preventative maintenance on all equipment including electrical, boiler systems, air pumps and compressors. Other duties include installing new equipment including pumps and pipelines, and leading both process improvement and cost control programs.
Providing a preventative maintenance program for the facility including upkeep of the property and buildings, that is in compliance with all corporate procedures and government regulatory guidelines
Taking corrective action, where necessary, that is in compliance with corporate procedures and government regulatory guidelines
Providing leadership and support for all personnel involved in the maintenance of the Leduc facility, property and buildings; and ensuring high standards of safety, housekeeping, quality, internal service, efficiency and cost control that are consistent with corporate objectives
Replacing/repairing/fabricating all types of mechanical and/ or electrical equipment, providing practical and economical services to increase productivity, including repair/replacement of defective equipment (i.e. pumps, valves, hoses etc.)
Developing and implementing checklists and audit procedures that will assist in providing an efficient and effective preventative maintenance program
Obtaining quotations from suppliers for repairs and upgrades
Scheduling and monitoring contractors’ work in compliance with health and safety regulations and corporate procedures
Keeping thorough records of all equipment inspections
Performing general maintenance work (i.e. snow removal, warehouse cleaning etc.)
Minimum High School diploma, technical college diploma preferred
Certified Millwright preferred; or working toward certification
5+ years of work-related experience, preferably including the following trades: plumbing; machinery; pipe fitting; mechanical
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a production environment. Supervisory experience in a chemical production environment will be preferred.
Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components
Strong knowledge of federal/provincial labour, environmental, and health and safety legislation
PLC and motor control training
Basic knowledge of structural and commercial construction
Proven mechanical aptitude and ability coordinate and organize the department
Ability to interpret technical specifications and manuals
High level of awareness and accountability with regard to health and safety issues
Strong interpersonal skills
Effective time management skills
