IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a MILLWRIGHT / MAINTENANCE MECHANIC for our Woodstock, ON client.
To inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain all mechanical equipment within specified departments. The successful candidate will be part of a mechanical /electrical team performing mainly mechanical maintenance functions with electrical trade assist on an as needed basis.
Perform mechanical maintenance functions on all equipment required to produce quality products for operating units
Integrate information into clear reports to convey incidents or conditions.
Performing reactive work trouble shooting and repairing production equipment on a daily basis, preventing or reducing unplanned equipment delays.
Perform inspections, repairs, rebuilds in both shop and plant environment.
Must be able to work as a self-directed, motivated team member in a fully integrated Manufacturing environment.
Must be capable of developing planning skills and asset type responsibilities for future succession planning positions.
Troubleshooting large industrial equipment and material handling robots.
Root cause determination of repetitive breakdowns, implementing continuous improvements to improve overall equipment efficiency
Preventative and predictive maintenance tasks
Equipment product line changeovers
Strong focus on H&S as this is an 18001/14001 certified environment
Must be capable of mentoring others and taking on leadership type roles.
Rotates three shifts Monday to Friday.
Minimum high school diploma/GED and Ontario Millwright Certificate of Qualification – 433A is required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s license.
Must be capable of physically demanding work (inside & outside).
Must be a self-starter with the ability to follow directions and work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Advanced trouble shooting and problem solving skills are required.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Basic personal computer and corporate standard software skills (MS Word, Excel) are required.
Basic skills in planning and scheduling of maintenance work are required.
Knowledge/experience in a Computerized Maintenance Management System is an asset.
