IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a FINANCIAL CONTROLLER for our Surrey, BC client.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financials:

Supervise, Manage, and train an accounting and administration team.

Prepare monthly financial statements with detailed schedules in Netsuite.

A/R, A/P, GL, Income statements, Balance Sheets, JE’s, Cash flows, Burn rates – Full cycle accounting.

Multiple currencies

Multiple business models One company now. With 1-2 startups being incubated that will eventually be spun off into their own entities.

Attend to queries after review of monthly financials from management and ownership.

Budget Management:

Oversee and manage company-wide budgets on a yearly, quarterly, and monthly basis.

Develop and monitor departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.

Payroll Management:

Provide oversight for the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Often the controller is the backup for this role when vacations / absences require it.

HR / Contracts:

Stakeholder in: HR Policy development oversite and review and provide insights on HR contracts, ensuring they align with company policies and legal standards.

Supervise group benefits onboarding and administration.

Team Leadership & Communication:

International Business Acumen:

Experience with Duty Drawbacks, international customs, and tariffs.

Familiarity with commercial contracts, including international supplier agreements, lease agreements, customer purchase agreements, PO T&C’s, Bonds, and more.

Performance Management:

Expertise of performance management systems such as OKR’s and CFR’s.

Industry Experience:

Experience in a SaaS sales environment and familiarity with various business models.

Experience with SRED, IRAP, and SDTC – Canadian R&D Funding programs.

Proficiency with manufacturing business models, including BOM setup, phantom assemblies, kits, services, etc.

Metrics & Analytics:

Deep understanding of collecting sales tax for/from foreign sales, especially in the US.

Nice to have asset:

In addition to the more standard KPI’s you also have experience with mar-tech metrics such as CAC and LTV, ARPU, Etc.

Technical Expertise:

Mastery of ERP systems, with a preference for Netsuite, but SAP and other experience is acceptable.

Excel proficiency at an expert level.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Designated CPA

5 to 10 years of accounting experience.

2+ years of management experience.

Tax experience is required.

Experience working at a big accounting/auditing companies. (Deloitte, KPMG, PWC, Ernst, Grant Thornton, etc.)
