FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR – EDMONTON, AB, CANADA – #5291

IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR for our South Edmonton, AB client.

For over 40 years, our client has developed a reputation for helping organizations take care of their people – and people take care of their families. We help organizations get the most out of their investments in Group Benefits and Group Savings Programs (Group RRSPs, TFSAs, etc.), and work with individuals across the Province to help them save for the future and protect their families. This includes working with nearly every school board in Alberta as the exclusive provider of the ATA Group RRSP program.

This is your rare opportunity to get on board. (That’s not an ego statement. To be honest, people who join our team tend to love it enough that they stay — so we don’t have the chance to hire very often.)

With several thousand clients as part of our group, helping to service those clients takes some assistance. With the insurance part of our business, there’s a regular flow of paperwork: updates on existing policies, processing for new policies, and answering day-to-day questions – don’t worry, the more complex questions get kicked up the ladder. You’re the first point of contact for visitors to the office and for people connecting with the company. You’ll also need to help the harried rainmakers in the company to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Very strong communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Attention to detail with a seemingly endless flow of documentation.
  • The ability to “manage up” to keep managers on track
  • Strong computer skills with common technologies like the Office suite (Word and Excel in particular) and CRM databases
  • A generally sunny outlook on life
  • A background in Insurance, Investment programs, &/or Mutual Fund administration is a great bonus.

Ok, so what’s the catch?

We have a lot on the go! So you need to strike that balance between being very strong with detail — getting your head around financial concepts, learning how insurance works, tracking everything in the CRM — but also in “managing up” with the people you’re responsible for keeping on track.

Also location: The office is just South of the Whitemud & 97th street. While not exactly remote, it’s a bit of a walk to the closest bus stop.  So anyone considering this would need to have a reliable way to get here.
