JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an Electrician you are responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical equipment and automation within the Thunder Bay Terminal in a safe and timely manner.

  • Provides shift response to plant trouble calls, completes required repairs and returns equipment to Operations in an expeditious manner.
  • Performs troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of facility electrical equipment, programmable logic control systems, instrumentation and related equipment according to established guidelines.
  • Performs installation and repair of distribution panels, motor control centers, protective devices, fixtures, instrumentation and related equipment in accordance with Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Completes accurate, timely and legible administrative documents.
  • Participates in Company Safety Program.
  • Provides troubleshooting and basic PLC programming in ladder logic and function block.
  • Is familiar with Modbus communications protocols, hardware, media and communications. Has a basic knowledge and familiarity with Ethernet protocols, hardware (media converters, hubs and switches) and wiring systems.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with supervisors and peer group to provide the information required to manage and operate the Terminal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work in a team environment and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and quality of work.
  • Familiarity with Modicon Unity programming software is an asset.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an industrial setting.
  • Journeyman electrician with interprovincial certification under the Red Seal Program.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Schedule: Weekly rotation of day shifts and evening shifts. Monday to Friday. Day shift is 8 AM to 4 PM and evening shift is 4 PM to 12 AM

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Millwright you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair and troubleshooting of stationary grain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

Complete regular preventive maintenance on all mechanical equipment according to established schedules, codes and procedures.

Troubleshoot, fabricate, repair and install mechanical equipment/parts in accordance with established procedures.

Provide assistance to other Maintenance and Electrical team members when required.

Operate in accordance with health, safety and fire prevention regulations and practices.

Perform proper alignments within industry set standards.

Use plasma cutting tool and welding equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Experience with conveyor, material handling equipment, grain handled and processing equipment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and quality of work initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of welding (TIG, MIG, ARC, Plasma, Torch), rigging (proper hand signals, load balancing) and mobile equipment operation.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an industrial setting or comparable service work in the industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial, elevator and cleaning systems.
  • Must be a certified Journeyman with Trades Qualification or Interprovincial certification under the Red Seal Program.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a member of the maintenance team, your primary responsibility includes perform electrical maintenance, install, examine, replace or repair components; trouble shoot electrical systems and building services. In addition, you will provide technical support to production teams in supporting production uptime, ensuring optimal functioning of the production equipment and facilities. This position provides critical support in reducing production down time, maintaining overhaul programs, preventive maintenance of equipment, and effective troubleshooting and repair of equipment. The Millwright is a member of the maintenance team and as such, participates in team efforts to achieve assigned department goals; works closely with other team members to ensure all maintenance activities are completed on time, according to SOPs and regulatory requirements; and provides support to other roles within the maintenance team.

SHIFT: Schedule of bakery, availability required (flexibility with working overtime, and on weekends, as necessary)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and mill machines to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Troubleshooting/repairs/installations of processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair/replacement results
  • Extensive mechanical knowledge including power transmission, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Optimize equipment safety, efficiency and reliability, participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules
  • Comply with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Service, clean and perform preventative maintenance and overhaul on all production and
  • bakery equipment
  • Continually improve equipment function via design improvements
  • Ensure that work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times and check work area for such hazards upon arrival and when departing each area of work
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Red Seal Millwright License (Ideally)
  • 2-5 years’ industrial mechanical experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proven track record working with mechanics, machine shop practices (lathe & milling machines), welding (ARC, TIG, MIG), and pneumatic & hydraulic fields is required.
  • Problem solving skills and good communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work a flexible shift day/afternoon/night, Sunday to Saturday.
