Schedule:

Shift Schedule – Production Mechanics

1) Mon-Thus days. 10 hour shift from 6AM to 4:30 PM. No premiums

2) Mon – Thus evenings. 10 hour shift from 4PM to 2:30AM. Premium of $1/hour

3) Fri-Sun days – 12 hour shift from 6AM to 6PM. Premium of 11%                    

For our Production Mechanics, they are assigned one of two:

Rotating Mon-Thus shifts. Typically one week on days, the next on evenings

Fixed weekend shift. If they are on weekends, then they do not rotate

IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting a FACILITY MECHANIC for our Arnprior, ON client.

Our client, is an industry leading Canadian CDMO specializing in off-the-shelf sterile pharmaceuticals for the North American market, is searching for a Facility Mechanic in Arnprior, ON. Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance Services, this role provides electro-mechanical maintenance services to the facility and the production areas to ensure continuous, safe and efficient manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facilities, utilities, and plant production equipment as required in a pharmaceutical manufacturing site.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Maintaining and optimizing machinery and equipment, component fabrication, welding, start-up and testing, basic electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Detect and troubleshoot equipment irregularities and malfunctions, identify and repair or replace defective components, proactive in identifying potential issues with equipment and electro-mechanical systems, and implement corrective and preventative solutions to reduce equipment downtime.

Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance work and utilize condition monitoring tools to assess equipment conditions.

Complete test and maintenance reports.

Work with contractors to ensure completion of maintenance tasks.

Calibrate/install plant instrumentation.

Follow written maintenance procedures according to preventative maintenance work orders.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Training/education/certification in Industrial Maintenance required. Millwright designation is an asset.
  • Ability to read detailed drawings, both mechanical and electrical.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC systems, boilers, compressors, purified water systems etc.).
  • Familiarity with automated equipment is a must.
  • Experience with PLC controllers i.e. troubleshooting.
  • Experience with AC/DC drive systems.
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex industrial equipment is a must.
  • Experience in pharma or in a sterile production facility is an asset.
  • Experience with maintenance software programs is an asset.
  • Team player with a positive attitude; good written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work shifts and be on call as required.

 

Schedule:

Facility Mechanics work one of two shifts.

1) Mon-Fri days. No premium for this shift.

2) Fr-Sat-Sun. 3 twelve hour shifts with an 11% premium

The mechanic role requires people to be part of our on-call program. You will receive both pager pay and call in pay when you carry the pager/phone.
