POSITION SUMMARY

The Plant Shipping and Receiving Operator is responsible for safely loading outbound rail cars and trucks and unloading inbound deliveries while ensuring the product meets quality and quantity specifications, applying our client’s core values, practicing effective communications, providing superior customer service, and representing our client’s Processing as the choice for all growers in the purchasing area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Gain Processing & Quality Assurance

  • Fully understand delivery and loading plan.
  • Probe, take samples, make sure product quality meets contract requirement.
  • Unload/loading trucks, print and enter scale tickets.
  • Update inventory log.
  • Spot, clean, and load railcars.
  • Keep unload/ shipped product samples. 

Plant Operations, Safety & Upkeep:

  • Follow the cleaning schedule set by operators.
  • Conduct change over.
  • Read prior shift report.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and document in the shift log.
  • Report any equipment deficiency and mechanical issues immediately to the lead operator on shift.
  • Clean the office, and plant employee area daily.
  • Clean the external surfaces surrounding the plant, receiving, and shipping areas as well as truck scale and rail track surroundings when possible.
  • Always wear the required personal protective equipment in designated areas, as directed.
  • Always follow all safety procedures including lockout tag out hot work permit.
  • Assist during routine inspections and maintenance.
  • Being proactive in all maintenance applications including operations of Forklift, telehandler, tractor and semi truck where needed.
  • Ensure visiting contractors sign in on the contractor log. 

Teamwork & Grower Relations:

  • Work proactively with the team on receiving deliveries, shipping products, and communicating key
  • Share knowledge with our client’s Processing team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Inform the team of any issues or any issues around quality or that would affect the operations immediately.
  • Provide quality customer service to growers and truck drivers and promote our client’s Processing brand in any interactions with customers on site. 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with routine equipment maintenance; greasing equipment, checking belts, assisting fellow operators.
  • Certification to operate Forklifts, Tractor and Telehandler would be an asset.
  • Grain cleaning experience is an asset.
  • Experience with agriculture, farm equipment and a mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Previous elevators experience an asset.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work individually and as part of a team. 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Must be able to safely lift 23 kgs (50 pounds).
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat, and climb ladders and stairs several times a day.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute to work daily.
  • OSHA approved steel-toed boots are required.

The Plant Processing Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our pulse crop cleaning plant. The operator will ensure efficient production in desired product quality and quantity. This position works with the team in achieving key performance

indicators for safety, environment, quality, customer service and cost control. The plant processing operator will perform all duties while applying our client’s Processing ’s core values, practicing effective communications, providing superior customer service, and representing our client’s Processing as the choice for all growers in the purchasing area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Plant Operations & Maintenance

  • Keep plant clean and organized, through daily cleaning and upkeep.
  • Carry out regular maintenance, inspection, and cleaning, as directed.
  • Perform change over procedures.
  • Report any equipment deficiencies and mechanical issues immediately to shift supervisor.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure product meets contract requirements and document in the shift log.
  • Read/write full shift report. 

Plant Operations & Safety:

  • Ensure work is completed within standards that meet safety, regulatory compliance, environment, quality, customer service and cost controls.
  • Always follow good manufacturing processes, meeting industry regulations and equipment protocols.
  • Practice quality control protocol at all phases of production and shipping and receiving.
  • Report all quality issues and opportunities for improving quality control.
  • Report any equipment deficiency and mechanical issues immediately to the supervisor on shift.
  • Participate in all pre-shift and other safety meetings.
  • Communicate, document, and control hazards, as instructed.
  • Always wear the required personal protective equipment in designated areas, as directed.
  • Always follow all safety procedures including lockout tag out hot work permit.
  • Ensure visiting contractors sign in on the contractor log.

This client is a leading organization in the manufacturing sector is looking to add a Senior Mold Surfacer to their growing team. Reporting to the Surfacing Lead and Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for leading the mold surfacing process from conception to completion.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Creating part feasibility studies and concession documentation for review

Communicating complex methods to internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing

Evaluating and implementing customer standards into projects

Providing project updates including potential issues and appropriate resolutions

Adding necessary components such as mechanisms, lifters, slides, etc.

Importing raw data into Cimatron and performing the initial feasibility analysis of the part

Creating a buildable tool to submit to the designer for final completion

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7 years of surfacing experience
  • 3+ years of experience using Cimatron
  • Previous experience working in a 3D solid modelling environment with a thorough knowledge of mold components
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to work overtime, up to 55 hours per week

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Millwright you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair and troubleshooting of stationary grain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

Complete regular preventive maintenance on all mechanical equipment according to established schedules, codes and procedures.

Troubleshoot, fabricate, repair and install mechanical equipment/parts in accordance with established procedures.

Provide assistance to other Maintenance and Electrical team members when required.

Operate in accordance with health, safety and fire prevention regulations and practices.

Perform proper alignments within industry set standards.

Use plasma cutting tool and welding equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Experience with conveyor, material handling equipment, grain handled and processing equipment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and quality of work initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of welding (TIG, MIG, ARC, Plasma, Torch), rigging (proper hand signals, load balancing) and mobile equipment operation.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an industrial setting or comparable service work in the industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial, elevator and cleaning systems.
  • Must be a certified Journeyman with Trades Qualification or Interprovincial certification under the Red Seal Program.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Schedule: Weekly rotation of day shifts and evening shifts. Monday to Friday. Day shift is 8 AM to 4 PM and evening shift is 4 PM to 12 AM
