Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on managing environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing effective strategies for environmental sustainability and risk management. The Environmental Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Management: Manage environmental project activities, including scheduling, tracking, and planning for assessments, site investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial action plans.
- Compliance Strategy Development: Develop strategies to meet regulatory requirements and ensure ongoing compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- Remediation Efforts: Analyze, develop, and implement activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of remediation efforts.
- Environmental Risk Assessment: Evaluate environmental risks of activities and provide advice on minimizing impacts, ensuring sustainable operations.
- Sampling and Monitoring Plans: Design and implement sampling and monitoring plans to track air, water, and soil quality. Operate and maintain equipment to monitor pollution levels effectively.
- Data Interpretation and Compliance: Analyze environmental data and provide guidance to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
- Regulatory Evaluation: Assess the impact of existing and proposed codes, standards, and regulations on current and future operations.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and present technical reports and documentation for internal and external use, particularly for interactions with regulatory agencies.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on new technologies and trends in environmental engineering and regulatory requirements to ensure best practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities
While this role does not involve direct supervision, the Environmental Engineer may:
- Train managers and supervisors on compliance strategies and procedural changes.
- Provide direction to individuals or teams on tasks and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental engineering, particularly in project management and regulatory compliance.
- In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and compliance strategies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex environmental data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical documentation and presenting findings.
- Proficiency in monitoring and sampling techniques, as well as using related equipment and software.
- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies in environmental management.
