MAINTENANCE MANAGER, WINDSOR, ON, CANADA – #5144
IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a MAINTENANCE MANAGER for our Windsor, ON area client.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- To achieve plant equipment uptime of 94% and work towards continuous improvement
- Job Responsibilities:
- Implement safety policies and procedure for the department
- Manage the maintenance department effectively to attain a downtime of <5% within the allowable cost budget
- Ensure all our equipment operates to planned uptime
- Staff the four crews with competent and reliable maintenance technicians (ideally one electrical, one mechanical)
- Expand “equipment ownership “ into operations / operators
- Improve emergency response protocol and cycle time
- Implement a Preventive Maintenance program utilizing Megamation, coordinate/collaborate with Lakeshore operations
- Implement Work Order system using Megamation, coordinate/collaborate with Lakeshore operations
- Implement a Spare Parts Inventory management system using Megamation, coordinate/collaborate with Lakeshore operations
- Directly lead all PLC-related upgrades, improvements and troubleshooting activities, PMs and assess our existing PLC capabilities
- Assess the mechanical and electrical competence of our maintenance team and make recommendations on skills development
- Develop detail knowledge of all our equipment including the maintenance requirements to optimize uptime
- Recommend improvements to our PM practices and help implement and assess outcomes
- Recommend improvements to the operation of our equipment to help reduce downtime and improve productivity
- Direct Reports – Maintenance Lead, Skilled Trades, Planner, Reports to Operations Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good Interpersonal Skills
- Proven leadership, problem solving, coaching/mentoring and training skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Proven ability to handle conflict, align performance for success and initiate action
- Educational Qualification Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field required
- 10+ years’ experience in maintenance management role
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
