The Municipal Sales Engineer will execute the Technical Sale of our client’s municipal products. You will leverage your experience, technical know-how, and customer service abilities to help build the reputation of our client amongst specifiers and relevant stakeholders.

Principal Responsibilities: 

The ability to secure specifications at the engineering level, cultivate strategic partnerships with distributors and contractors and to develop a strong presence with major end-users will be instrumental for success. These relationships are paramount as they will be a conduit for the voice of the customer which is the foundation to our business
Submit innovation ideas to create new products that would “add value” to our industry and our customers.
Increase brand awareness in the engineering community at industry functions such as tradeshows, seminars and association meetings
Help develop education, case studies, training and technical material for municipal products and present related presentations for engineers and relevant stakeholders
Assist the local engineering community with the development of codes and standards, product certification letters and deflection calculations to support products.
Track upcoming projects in and around the province to assist with forecasting and industry awareness.
Help the Northern Alberta Sales team meet annual sales and growth objectives
Attend weekly / monthly sales meetings to provide Industry awareness, updates on projects and strategies
Collaborate with other Regional engineers for insight on modes of failure, changes to codes and standards and new products entering the industry.
Respond to product and service complaint reports within 24 hours of notification.


Minimum 5 years’ experience with knowledge of the construction industry, codes and standards and the design process
Must be a registered engineer in the province of Alberta (Civil or Mechanical engineers preferred)
Client service orientation, with a sales and marketing aptitude
Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Power Point etc.)
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Must be able to communicate technical information in simple terms
A strong customer service focus and ability to respond to customer queries in a timely manner.
A positive attitude and a team focused outlook
An ability to work independently, with strong self-motivation skills
Knowledge of pipe design is definitely an asset
Must have a valid driver’s licence
Able to travel throughout Alberta on a regular basis, Eastern Canada and to the U.S on occasion
