IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting a PLANT MANAGER for our Peoria, IL client.


The Plant Manager oversees all plant operations, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, quality, production, reliability, utilities, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain safety and environmental standards.

Develop plans to reduce environmental waste and comply with regulations.

Develop a plant operating plan aligned with the business plan.

Ensure necessary resources are available for plan implementation.

Support product line managers at the site.

Maintain product quality, equipment, and operator performance standards.

Develop and manage a capital plan to support business strategy.

Monitor and report operating costs.

Provide training and involvement programs to foster a team environment.

Identify and support career development opportunities for employees.

Act as a change agent and represent the company to the external community.

Manage 2-6 subordinate managers and oversee 90-110 employees.

Conduct interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisals, and address employee issues.

Perform subordinate duties as needed in their absence.



  • S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Production, Industrial Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years in manufacturing/plant management, preferably in a 24/7 refinery or chemical operation.
  • Advanced degree (MBA) is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of cost drivers.
  • Professional Engineering license, ISO, Six Sigma, or LEAN training are a plus.
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and use hands.
  • Occasionally required to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required.

Work Environment:

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Noise level is usually moderate.

Occasional travel required.
