PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, VAUGHN, ON, CANADA – #5086

IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR for our Vaughan, ON client.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Make sure the plant meets world class safety standards

Supervise, assign and authorize hours of work for hourly employees in the department as per daily production requirements and re-assign work when required

Participate in the discipline of employees when required

Track labor hours and material quantities for job orders and submit reports to accounting department weekly

Track rework and machine downtime

Train and enforce employees to work in a healthy, safe and efficient manner including training on all hazards in their work areas and authorizing use of specific equipment

Monitor finished goods for high-quality, quantity and accuracy requirements as per job specifications and standards through close supervision, periodic checks, and training of employees and problem solving

Monitor materials use and maintain inventory levels to meet production requirements and submit orders

Monitor and maintain plant safety through communications of health and safety policies with employees and checking machinery for any malfunctions and safety infractions

Supervise & troubleshoot plant equipment and machinery

Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of secondary education. Ideally technical or collegiate

Experience in supervision within a unionized environment

Experience working in a custom manufacturing environment such as furniture, cabinet-making or carpentry an asset

Understanding of OHSA, WHMIS, MSDS, ESA and collective agreements

Detailed oriented, organized

Ability to train effectively on safe-operating procedures

Able to interpret technical drawings (blueprints)

Experience in Maintenance is an asset

Any electrical experience would be considered an asset

Safety Leader Experience is considered an asset

Working with resins and in a factory environment
