SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

The Opportunity

IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager for our client, a well-established organization operating within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, logistics, inventory, and distribution. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient, cost-effective flow of goods while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the business.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Supply Chain Manager will lead all aspects of supply chain performance, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, production planning, and supplier management.

This role requires a strong focus on supply planning, forecasting, and execution, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels to support business objectives and customer requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain & Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily supply chain operations including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and logistics execution
  • Ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of goods across the supply chain
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of inventory through reconciliation of purchase orders, receipts, and shipments
  • Monitor outbound product flow to ensure on-time delivery and resolve potential delays

Supply Planning & Production Alignment

  • Lead the development and execution of the monthly supply plan based on demand forecasts
  • Create and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and capacity planning outlooks
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks through proactive planning and cross-functional collaboration
  • Align supply chain activities with production, sales, and procurement teams

Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Optimize inventory levels to reduce excess and obsolete stock while meeting service requirements
  • Implement and enforce FIFO practices and inventory control standards
  • Oversee cycle counting programs and ensure accurate physical and system inventory records
  • Manage material flow across multiple storage locations and ensure product readiness

Logistics & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with freight carriers, third-party logistics providers, and suppliers
  • Negotiate service agreements and drive cost-effective transportation solutions
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Coordinate complex shipments, including project-based and high-priority deliveries

Continuous Improvement & Performance

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels
  • Develop and track KPIs and performance metrics across supply chain operations
  • Optimize warehouse layout, space utilization, and workflow efficiency
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across logistics, inventory, and planning functions

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability and performance
  • Set clear expectations and monitor team performance against operational goals
  • Facilitate regular team communication, ensuring alignment with company objectives
  • Drive engagement, collaboration, and continuous development across the team

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, and Procurement to ensure alignment
  • Participate in production meetings to provide updates on materials, inventory, and risks
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding supply chain performance and challenges

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience in:
    • Inventory control
    • Production planning & scheduling
    • Logistics & transportation
    • Supplier and contract negotiations
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, EPICOR, or similar)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel required)
