IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a GENERAL SALES MANAGER for our Edmonton, AB client.
Our client is expanding their team and looking for a dynamic manager who will manage all aspects of sales relationships with the sales team, customers and suppliers. The position is accountable to develop and implement sales strategies for setting sales goals and for delivering sales volume. Travel is required across the sales territory and both regional offices, including: AB, BC, SK and MB.
Lead, coach and develop a sales team by hiring, reviewing performance, providing feedback, determining training and development needs, establishing goals and priorities, providing work direction, and maintaining a succession plan.
Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills
Ability to foster and maintain individual accountability of direct reports
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Exhibit a structured, collaborative and proactive strategic sales approach, along with a solid track record in relationship building
Implement and manage company policies and objectives, and communicate to internal and external stakeholders in order to maximize customer service and functional team support
Manage assigned budgets for the company
Monitor competitive market activity and communicate to senior management recommendations that have a direct effect on business in the region
Develop and maintain strong relationships with our client’s vendors and contractors
Develop and execute annual business and trade/marketing spend plans for the organization in order to achieve annual sales objectives
University degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
Construction industry knowledge is an asset
Experience in the Request for Proposal (RFP) / Tender process
Strong analytical, planning, presentation, negotiation, and problem solving skills
Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Microsoft Office products
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and demands
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
