IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently recruiting for a TEMPORARY TO PERMANENT BRAZER for our Edmonton, AB client.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Brazer brazes (bonds) element sheath to fittings, wire to wire etc, as specified by blueprints, layout, or work order using a hand torch. This is a 6 month temporary position with overtime.
You will be required to;
Set oxygen and acetylene gauges; have an understanding of gases.
Weld metal parts on production line; turns valves to release fuel gas and oxygen and ignite mixture, or insert specific weld rod into portable holder.
Braze mineral insulated heaters as required in assigned department.
Examine seam and re-braze defective joints. May braze together broken parts and cover holes to repair leaks. May melt and separate brazed joints, using hand torch; remove and straighten components; and re-braze joints to repair misaligned or damaged assemblies.
Other duties as assigned through identified and established process improvements.
May be required to cross train and demonstrate competency on all essential job functions of the department working at different work stations as production needs require.
Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships; training and teaching others.
Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials.
Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
General education with six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with brazing, soldering or TIG welding
Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to read and understand brazing procedures.
Working knowledge of the application of silver braze, copper braze and nicrobraze materials.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions and decimals. Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Requires continual attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
Hours of Operation are Monday – Friday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. This role is starting out on a temporary basis and will go permanent if you fit the bill. Salary is $20+ per hour DOE.
