IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is seeking COMMISSIONING MANAGER for a client in Proctor, WV.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning and start-up activities of our state of the art Petrochemical & Food Ingredients manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, about 15+ years of experience in commissioning of large size continuous petrochemical plants ( investment above $300MM). Alternatively, candidates with High School qualification with more than 20 years experience in plant commissioning of chemicals plants may be considered.

The role involves development and execution of commissioning plans on daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of all commissioning activities: Plan, organize, and direct the commissioning activities, ensuring efficient completion within agreed schedule. The person needs to possess hands on knowledge on commissioning practices of common machineries like compressors, turbines, steam blowing, mechanical run test of pumps/ fans, catalyst loading, incinerator/ boiler, instrument interlock system with SIL ratings etc.
  • Team Leadership: Build, Lead and manage the team, including supervisors, operators, and technicians, ensuring smooth coordination and efficient operations.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Ensure adherence to quality standards and SOPs recommended by vendors.
  • Production Management: Achieve on spec production targets within set schedules and budgets while minimizing losses.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Ensure compliance with all statutory HSE requirements and promote a safe working environment, achieve corporate objectives on EHS.
  • Strategic Planning: Implement strategic plans aimed at improving productivity, reducing operational costs, and enhancing product quality.
  • Training and Development: Drive Training and Development initiatives in the organization.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering. Or High School graduation
  • 15 years( for Bachelor’s degree)/ 20 years (for High School graduation) of progressive experience in chemical manufacturing as Commissioning Manager.
  • Strong technical expertise in chemical processes and operations, equipment, standards, and a high level of familiarity with design & engineering of chemical plants.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build, inspire and motivate teams.
  • Sound understanding of State and Federal safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems.
  • Experience in budget management, cost control, and resource optimization.
