What You’ll Do:

What We’re Looking For:

The Reliability Engineer will lead initiatives focused on improving equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reliability & Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the plant’s mechanical technical resource for equipment reliability and repair strategies
  • Analyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Support development of maintenance strategies and reliability programs to improve uptime and asset utilization
  • Troubleshoot rotating and fixed equipment issues and track reliability KPIs and trends
  • Support and enhance the plant’s mechanical integrity and rotating equipment programs

Project Development & Execution

  • Translate reliability findings into CAPEX and OPEX projects and lead execution from concept through completion
  • Develop project scopes, equipment specifications, and engineering designs aligned with operational needs
  • Manage full project lifecycle including planning, budgeting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement) to ensure timely execution
  • Support plant turnarounds, outages, and reliability improvement initiatives

Safety, Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with all HESQ policies and applicable industry standards (ASME, API, NBIC, NACE, OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Participate in safety programs and lead investigations related to mechanical failures
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) processes for reliability and capital projects
  • Ensure all designs and installations meet regulatory and engineering standards

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams on a daily basis
  • Assist in developing workforce capability in reliability and maintenance best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across plant reliability systems
  • Support maintenance planning and execution processes

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical or industrial plant environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical integrity, reliability engineering, and maintenance practices
  • Experience with rotating equipment, failure analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASME, API, OSHA, etc.)
  • Proven ability to manage projects and work cross-functionally in a plant environment
  • Strong communication skills and hands-on, team-oriented approach
