As Corporate Director of Engineering, you will provide strategic and technical leadership for the development of next-generation sensor products for both U.S. and international markets. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global development of innovative sensor products for automotive, commercial vehicle, off-road, industrial, and related applications.
- Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, embedded firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering.
- Drive product development from concept through design, validation, testing, and production launch.
- Provide strategic technical leadership for embedded electronic products incorporating microcontrollers, sensors, firmware, and associated hardware.
- Collaborate with global engineering, operations, product management, and executive leadership to execute technology and product roadmaps.
- Establish engineering priorities, allocate resources, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
- Support global product development initiatives while maintaining high standards for quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Travel internationally as required to support engineering teams, customers, and manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proven experience leading product development engineering organizations at the Director, Senior Manager, or Engineering Manager level.
- Extensive experience developing sensor-based electronic products.
- Strong background in embedded electronics, including microcontrollers, sensors, firmware, and electronic hardware.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams consisting of electrical, firmware, mechanical, and systems engineers.
- Industry experience within automotive, commercial vehicles, off-road equipment, industrial automation, or closely related markets.
- Demonstrated success managing engineering organizations across both U.S. and international locations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. An advanced degree is considered an asset.
Location
- Candidates located within approximately 100 miles of Chicago are not required to relocate.
- Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates outside the local area.
