Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Maintenance Systems Analyst to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong maintenance professional with expertise in SAP PM/MM, master data management, and asset reliability who enjoys working at the intersection of maintenance, engineering, and information systems.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance leadership team, the Maintenance Systems Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert for maintenance master data and SAP PM/MM processes. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and governance of maintenance data while supporting the optimization of maintenance planning, asset management, inventory, and reliability programs.

Acting as the key liaison between Maintenance, Engineering, Warehouse, and IT, you will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring maintenance systems effectively support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Maintenance Systems & Master Data

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for SAP PM and MM modules, supporting maintenance system functionality and business processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and govern maintenance master data, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and compliance across business systems.
  • Create and maintain Functional Locations (FLOCs), Equipment Records, Maintenance Plans, Task Lists, Bills of Material (BOMs), Material Master data, and related asset information.
  • Coordinate master data creation, revisions, standardization, mass updates, and data governance activities.
  • Support SAP system enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and ongoing process improvements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Maintenance and IT to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into system solutions.

Asset Reliability & Maintenance Optimization

  • Support equipment reliability initiatives through failure analysis, maintenance optimization, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Participate in equipment performance evaluations, including FMEA reviews and historical maintenance analysis.
  • Review corrective and breakdown maintenance data to identify opportunities for improving preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Support migration of maintenance data from legacy systems into SAP.
  • Maintain asset documentation, drawings, equipment hierarchies, and standardized maintenance records.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to optimize spare parts management, inventory planning, and material requirements.
  • Review inventory levels, MRP settings, and obsolete material records while coordinating with equipment suppliers and vendors.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reporting, and documentation to support operational performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Support internal and external audits through accurate technical documentation and system reporting.
  • Assist with maintenance budgeting, reporting, stewardship planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure maintenance data complies with internal governance standards and industry best practices.

Training & Technical Support

  • Train maintenance personnel and engineers on SAP PM/MM functionality, maintenance processes, and reporting tools.
  • Develop user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
  • Provide ongoing technical support while promoting best practices in maintenance systems and master data management.

Innovation & Digital Transformation

  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance systems, data quality, and overall asset performance.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives focused on maintenance excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate new technologies and collaborate with IT and external vendors to enhance maintenance system capabilities.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a passion for asset reliability, data quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent technical education in Engineering, Maintenance, Asset Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in maintenance systems, asset management, or master data management within the oil & gas, petrochemical, LNG, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Extensive experience working with SAP PM and MM modules, including equipment records, functional locations, maintenance plans, task lists, Bills of Material, and Material Master data.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, and asset management principles.
  • Experience with master data governance, data standardization, data mining, and maintenance reporting.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Experience supporting spare parts management, inventory optimization, and material planning.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across Maintenance, Engineering, IT, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced industrial environment.
