IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent on behalf of a leading renewable energy construction organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven field leader who enjoys working on large-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The successful candidate will oversee the mechanical scope of construction, providing hands-on leadership to field crews while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

The position begins with onboarding in Houston, Texas, before relocating to the project site in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

What You Will Do

As the Mechanical Superintendent, you will provide day-to-day leadership for all mechanical construction activities while supporting successful project execution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and supervise field crews, subcontractors, and mechanical construction activities.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with OSHA regulations, project specifications, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Management, QA/QC, Safety, Project Controls, and Logistics teams.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve field issues, and maintain schedule and budget objectives.
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and installation requirements.
  • Support commissioning activities, punch-list completion, and project closeout.
  • Promote a strong safety culture while driving productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Report daily project progress to the General Superintendent and Construction Manager.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of field supervisory experience on utility-scale renewable energy construction projects.
  • Previous experience with solar or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects is strongly preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred (OSHA 10 will be considered for onboarding).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience using Procore or similar construction management software is considered an asset.
  • Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate to project sites as required (up to 80–100%).
  • Previous U.S. work experience is required. Employment sponsorship is not available for this position.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary targeted at $130,000 USD, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates.
  • $120/day per diem, paid seven days per week while assigned to the project (excluding scheduled rotation periods, during which company-paid travel is provided).
  • Company vehicle provided for work-related use while assigned to the project site.
