The Opportunity
A nationally recognized engineering and infrastructure firm is seeking a Senior Substation Project Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership and drive the successful delivery of complex utility substation projects across North America.
In this role, you will serve as the technical lead and engineering delivery owner, overseeing multidisciplinary design teams while partnering closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced substation engineering professional who enjoys leading people, managing complex EPC projects, and building strong client relationships.
What You Will Do
- Lead the engineering execution of complex utility substation projects.
- Serve as the primary technical authority and engineering lead for assigned projects.
- Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
- Maintain responsibility for engineering deliverables, quality, and technical compliance.
- Partner with Project Managers to manage project scope, schedule, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to engineering staff.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with utility clients and key stakeholders.
- Support proposal development, project pursuits, and business development initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, project delivery, and quality standards.
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 11 years of experience in substation engineering and project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex substation design projects.
- Experience supporting EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) programs.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and client relationship management skills.

Compensation
Competitive base salary ranging from $142,000 to $271,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
