  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Promote a portfolio of specialty materials and solutions used in plastics manufacturing, including color concentrates, masterbatch, polymer additives and related products.
  • Work closely with plastics processors, manufacturers and technical decision-makers to understand their production requirements, material challenges and commercial objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new products, expand existing accounts and increase market share.
  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans, including account penetration strategies, prospect targeting, sales forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Lead commercial discussions, negotiate pricing and develop proposals that balance customer value with profitability objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal technical, product development, customer service and operations teams to deliver tailored solutions and resolve customer challenges.
  • Monitor industry developments, competitive activity, resin market trends and emerging customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity reports, forecasts and opportunity pipelines through CRM systems.
  • Represent the organization professionally during customer visits, technical discussions, industry events and trade shows.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to build relationships, identify opportunities and support customer requirements.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 5 years of successful B2B sales or account management experience, ideally within the plastics, polymers, specialty chemicals or related materials industries.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience selling plastic resins, color concentrates, masterbatch, polymer additives, compounds or engineered plastics.
  • Familiarity with plastics manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding or other polymer processing applications is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business, grow existing accounts and consistently achieve sales and margin targets.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand customer material specifications, product applications and manufacturing challenges.
  • Proven negotiation, relationship management and consultative selling skills.
  • Experience developing territory sales strategies, managing pipelines and forecasting revenue.
  • Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Must reside in Ohio or Pennsylvania, with potential consideration for candidates based in West Virginia, depending on territory coverage.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are a motivated and commercially astute sales professional who understands that success in the plastics industry is built on technical credibility, responsiveness and long-term customer relationships.

You are comfortable engaging with purchasing professionals, plant managers, production leaders, engineers and technical teams to identify opportunities and recommend practical material solutions.

You bring an established understanding of the plastics or polymer marketplace, ideally with relationships among plastics processors, compounders, OEMs or other manufacturing customers.

You are equally comfortable developing new business and growing established accounts, and you understand how to balance customer requirements, competitive pricing and sustainable margins.

Most importantly, you are self-directed, accountable and motivated by results, with the discipline to manage a territory independently and the ambition to maximize your earnings through performance.

WHY CONSIDER THIS OPPORTUNITY?
