IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently seeking a Director of Sales & Business Development for our client, a growing industrial electronics and manufacturing organization focused on expanding both its commercial construction and service operations.
This is a highly visible executive leadership opportunity reporting directly to the President and playing a key role in shaping the organization’s long-term growth strategy, customer engagement model, and revenue development initiatives.
This role is ideal for a strategic, relationship-driven business development leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and enjoys building scalable systems, strengthening customer partnerships, and driving long-term commercial growth within industrial, manufacturing, military, aerospace, or electronics-focused markets.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Sales & Business Development will be responsible for architecting and implementing a structured business development strategy designed to support long-term organizational growth, customer retention, recurring service revenue, and market expansion.
The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership, operations, manufacturing, estimators, project managers, and service teams to build repeatable sales processes, strengthen strategic partnerships, improve forecasting visibility, and support sustainable revenue growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development Strategy & Infrastructure
• Develop and implement a full-cycle business development and growth strategy
• Build scalable business development systems, workflows, and sales processes
• Lead CRM selection, implementation, and sales funnel development initiatives
• Establish KPIs, metrics, and reporting structures aligned with company growth objectives
• Support marketing initiatives, trade show participation, and customer engagement activities
• Identify strategic target markets, customer opportunities, and partnership growth initiatives
Customer & Relationship Development
• Strengthen relationships with preferred contractors, industrial clients, and strategic partners
• Develop new business opportunities across commercial construction and service operations
• Lead prospecting activities focused on recurring service revenue and long-term customer growth
• Improve revenue forecasting and help stabilize demand variability through strategic client development
• Build long-term customer relationships focused on trust, responsiveness, and operational execution
Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution
• Work closely with estimators, project managers, manufacturing, and operations teams to support customer opportunities from quotation through delivery
• Coordinate customer responses and commercial execution activities across departments
• Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
• Support alignment between business development, operations, manufacturing, and service teams
• Help build scalable commercial infrastructure supporting long-term company growth
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
• 7–10+ years of business development or sales leadership experience
• Background within at least one of the following:
• Industrial electronics manufacturing
• Aerospace
• Military/defense manufacturing
• Industrial manufacturing
• Proven success developing and growing customer relationships within manufacturing environments
• Experience building sales systems, CRM processes, and business development infrastructure from the ground up
• Strong revenue growth and customer development background
Preferred
• Experience with RFP, procurement, and industrial project lifecycle processes
• Manufacturing ERP/CRM experience including Made2Manage and/or CalcuQuote
• Experience supporting both commercial project and recurring service-based business models
• Strong executive communication and relationship-building capability
