Territory: Atlantic Canada
Branch Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Employment: Full-Time, Permanent | Monday–Friday
Work Environment: Road, Customer Premises, Shop & Office
Travel: Up to 90% within territory, with occasional travel across Canada and the U.S.

 

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager – Heavy Equipment to lead sales growth and market development across Atlantic Canada. This is a highly autonomous, customer-facing role focused on selling municipal equipment and related solutions directly to municipalities, public works departments, and public sector organizations.

You’ll own the full sales cycle across your territory—from prospecting and solution development through demonstrations, closing, and ongoing account management—while representing a portfolio of best-in-class equipment and service offerings.

 

Who We’re Looking For

An experienced outside sales professional who understands the municipal equipment market and knows how to build credibility with municipalities and public works customers. You combine strong sales instincts with technical and mechanical aptitude, allowing you to understand operational challenges and recommend practical equipment solutions.

You’re self-motivated, comfortable managing a large territory independently, and driven to grow accounts, win new business, and exceed sales targets.

 

What You’ll Do:

As Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for all municipal equipment sales activities within your assigned Atlantic Canada territory, with a focus on delivering year-over-year growth aligned with company objectives.

You will:

  • Manage all sales activities across the assigned territory, driving year-over-year growth and increased market share.
  • Prospect for new business while developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing municipal and public sector accounts.
  • Sell municipal equipment and related accessories directly to end users, developing customized solutions for public works, road maintenance, and municipal operations.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from opportunity identification and needs assessment through solution development, closing, and post-sale relationship management.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, training, and technical support to customers and internal team members as required.
  • Represent JJE at trade shows, conferences, and industry events across Canada and the United States.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Parts, and Service teams to address technical requirements and support customers after the sale.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and territory performance updates.
  • Monitor municipal industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities and maintain strong market knowledge.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably within the municipal, vocational, or heavy equipment industry.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience within the municipal equipment market.
  • Proven success selling equipment directly to municipalities and public works departments.
  • Demonstrated sales and technical acumen, supported by strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process and ability to manage opportunities through the full sales cycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented approach with the drive to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Ability to plan and execute assignments independently within general guidelines.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Canada and the United States.
  • Business diploma or degree preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
